After taking a BFA in theatre from the University of Alberta, Susan Bristow shifted into film and television in 1996. She worked in every department, from extras casting to locations, before finding her way into producing with Corey Lee’s feature Defining Edward in 2003. The two have since produced four short films and an NFB feature documentary together. After being invited to attend the Producers’ Lab at the Canadian Film Centre in Toronto, Susan returned to Calgary to produce the feature film Six Figures with David Christensen. While working as Calgary Film Commissioner, Susan initiated the Studio and Creative Hub project, and contributed three years toward the development of the initiative. Returning to producing, Susan oversaw two seasons of an incredibly popular documentary series for CMT, as well as the and the groundbreaking program Build It Forward with Habitat for Humanity. Susan is producer of a number of film and television projects slated for release over the next year.
