The Nap-In, hosted by Barbara Bickel
Pop-Up Dream Releasing Performance Ritual to follow Nap-In. Gathering at 2:15pm on the porch of McHugh House.
Take a break, would ya? We insist! In our busy world, slowing down and resting is a radical act.
The Nap-In is a radical act of slowing down and resting. This is an inclusive art action that involves napping, dreaming and creating textile art based on your dreams. No art skills necessary! You can come with a dream or let one emerge during the nap. As a socially engaged art project all are welcome to participate. Dream art can be added to the traveling Dream Scroll or taken home with you.
Art supplies included and some mats and blankets. You are welcome to bring your own mat, pillow, or blanket for napping and your own art supplies too
At the completion of the Nap-In a community pop-up performance ritual will release the spirit of the dreams. This is co-conceived and performed by participants, anyone that wants to join in and the facilitating artist.
On-going since 2011, the Gestare Art Collective Dream Scroll and Nap-In events have been exhibited and added to by community members in art exhibitions, artist residencies, conferences and workshop settings. www.gestareartcollective.com
