Coming fresh outta Montreal, Shades Lawrence is an artist, poet, producer and DJ of mixed British, Jamaican, Irish and Scottish descent. Coming out of a tradition of spoken word, she highlights social justice themes over smooth beats. She has shared the stage with a variety of artists, including Strange Froots, Backxwash, Big Freedia and Princess Nokia. She’s one of the artists the Femme Wave crew is the most excited to see – so don’t sleep on it!
